Bangladesh Customs is working under the umbrella of National Board of Revenue (NBR) which is the apex body for direct and indirect tax revenue in Bangladesh.NBR is the major organ of Internal Resources Division (IRD) under the ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh. The Customs wing of the NBR deals with the tasks of formulation of policy concerning levy and collection of Customs duty and related taxes/charges and administration of matters relating to Customs.

Bangladesh Land Port Authority (Bangladesh Sthala Bandar Kartipaksha) came into being under Bangladesh Sthala Bandar Kartipaksha Act, 2001 (Act 20 of 2001) to make Import and Export between Bangladesh and neighbouring countries easier and better. Since inception Bangladesh Land port Authority started functioning under the control of ministry of shipping. Govt. of Bangladesh has declared 12 Land Customs Stations as Land Ports by SRO No. 11 dated 12-01-2002.Bibirbazar Land Custom Station declared as Land Port by SRO No. 320 dated 18-11-2002 and Bilonia Land custom station declared as Land port by SRO No. 25/2009 dated 23-02-09.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) came in to existence on promulgation of the above ordinance 1958 as the successor of the former EPIWTA. An advisory committee have subsequently been constituted to advise the authority in respect of all matters related to development, maintenance and operation of inland water transport and of inland waterways in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has about 24,000 km. of rivers, streams and canals that together cover about 7% of the country's surface. Most part of the country is linked by a complex network of waterways which reaches its extensive size in the monsoon period. Out of 24,000 km. of rivers, streams and canals only about 5,968 km. is navigable by mechanized vessels during monsoon period which shrinks to about 3,865km. during dry period. The IWT sector carries over 50% of all arterial freight traffic and one quarter of all passenger traffic.

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) is a quasi judicial body established in 1972 under the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. It works under the provisions of the Article 137 - 141 of the Constitution of Bangladesh and certain other rules and regulations made by the government from time to time. The Chairman and such other members as shall be prescribed constitute the commission. There is also a full fledged Secretariat to assist the Commission. The Chief Justice of the country administers the oath for Chairman and the members of the commission. The tenure of the Chairman and members of the commission is 5 (five) years or 65 years of age whichever comes earlier. If the age permits the tenure can be renewed for one more term. The chairman and the members are appointed by the Hon’ble President of the Republic.

Police Staff College, the apex training institution for the senior Police officers, emerged as a statutory organization in 2002 under Police Staff College Act, 2002. Revised Organogram (with TO& E), Rules & Regulations have been drafted but yet to be approved by the competent authority. At present, a Rector of the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police heads the College. Two Directors equivalent to the rank of Superintendent of Police, three Additional Superintendents, one senior assistant Superintendent and one Assistant Superintendent of Police assist him. A Board of Governors headed by Hon’ble Home Minister guides the College management.
